In recent times, there has been an increase in the number of Iranian students who have migrated to Ilmenau to further their education and build a brighter future for themselves. This presents a great opportunity for them to come together, celebrate their culture, and form a working group. So, the AG FARISA was born.
As a working group hosted by Kulturelle Koordinierung (KuKo) e.V., FARISA aims to promote Iranian literature, art, and traditions through various events such as Nowruz, Yaldā Night, Chāhārshanbe Suri, and Sepandārmazgān.
FARISA stands for FARavahar Iranian Students Association. The Faravahar is a well-known symbol of Zoroastrianism, which is an Iranian religion. Despite its religious roots, it has become a cultural symbol for Iranians. It’s worth mentioning that we also have a phrase that represents the three pillars of Zoroastrian Faith is “Good thoughts, Good words, Good deeds.”
